Good news for Dartmoor
Finally, there is some great news for Dartmoor. For too long, there have been question marks on the right to roam and camp. Certain landowners have tried to put a stop to this because of a small group of people that do not respect the moors. However, the major amount of people accessing the moors have great respect and care for this fantastic place.
This is really good news. The supreme court has ruled in favor of DNPA. This decision benefits those who use Dartmoor for leisure.

Cut Hill – Dartmoor
Cut Hill is one of my personal best places to hike out to. It is the most remote place on the moors. It does not look anything special. However, on clear days, the views from there are amazing.
Sadly, this year Cut Hill and a large part of the surrounding moors have been on fire. It is not known how it started. Thankfully, the fire crews, farmers, and others have managed to control and put it out.

May 02, 2025 Haldon Forest Park
First time out on the bike since the wipe out! Discovered that I did a little damage to the gears too, which was an easy fix for #bigpeaks

Splat!
So..whilst out mountainbiking last March ( 29th ) I really was not paying attention or to be honest in the correct mind state, and wiped out big time!
Its now 26th April and I am still recovering from this, leg much better, but still painful in places, and my thumb still needs regular flexing as that is also not 100% .. Lesson learnt.

Saturdays Ride
Well did not go to plan. The Trek Fuel Exe decided not to cooperate with the main battery (some odd error code). Thankfully, I brought the ranger extender with me. After taking out the main battery and leaving the extender in place, all was good!
