Awesome Dymo Service!!

Ok picture this!
Upgraded my Mac(s) from Lion to Mountain Lion ( LOVE IT!!! ) then a few days later went to print a label on my trusty Dymo 320 and …. it did NOT work!! 8 years of faithful service ended by an operating system upgrade!

Tried looking for the newest software … Does not support Mountain Lion

In a “vain” attempt i contacted Dymo via their chat system to ask either for updated software or advice on buying a NEW replacement ….

After handing the operator the serial number, and him picking himself off the floor that this 8 year old label printer was even working in Lion , Dymo authorised a FREE replacement to a label writer 450, I repeated to the operator just confirming that he was aware that the printer is 8 years old and has had HEAVY use but was indeed still working ( albeit not in Mountain Lion )

And yup , Dymo was set on sending out a new printer FREE!!!

Got it all setup , it works a treat ……. Wonder if in 8 years time i can contact support for another Freebe :p

Hats off to Dymo!!! Very impressed!

iPad killer apps!

Ok, this is purely my thoughts on this…but here goes…
iPad killer apps….

Office / word processing etc .. Not free, but good
Pages , it’s perfect on an iPad , needs a mac ruining on OS X.8 for full integration
QuickOffice HD Pro , loaded with cloud features ( Dropbox , sugar sync etc ) does word , excel , PowerPoint

Productivity , notes etc
Wanderlist free cloud based note taking system works on almost any device , or computer system
Notability , very cool note pad , doodle pad system , not free
Things , have a bad memory, this bad boy will do all the leg work, again not free
Dropbox , a must for document sharing , storage etc

Social networking
Facebook and twitter app, are going to be built in with ios 6 , but the current free apps are very good
Wordpress app, if you have a word press blog!

Art apps
Inspire pro , not free

Games!
Angry birds
Mine craft lite free, or minecraft full about £6
Pocket tanks
Dragons lair!
Sky landers clud patrol

Misc apps
Yelp , free
Rotten tomatoes ( flixter ) free
Around me , in a new and different place, this app will tell you locations of most petrol stations, cafes, restaurants and so on
Google earth
Autism apps ( it’s an app list lists apps for autism )
1Password , have loads of accounts , they need different passwords, this app stores them all, with 128bit encryption , not free

Photography
iPhoto about £3
Snapseed
Lifecards , postcard creator that uses your photos , the. You email them, very cool

There are many more, like space apps, and other various utilities

Kingsbirdge still in Disgrace !

Well finally someone turned up to cut back the “jungle bush” , however…..What a MESS , Maybe they were told to cut it as fast as possible and not worry about making it look pretty or anything, But ….. YUCK!!!

This end of Kingsbridge is sadly lacking in a LOT of tender care

Kingsbridge in disgrace part II

Ok its now been 2 weeks when it was said that this mess would be sorted out, The path has been untouched and pushchairs and disabled users simply can not get though now.

The grass was cut, though it looks more like a tornado touched down!! ( sure they would not make the same kinda mess in their gardens )

The tree down by the traffic lights is actually falling over, and not over growing , so whilst someone has pushed it back, its only a temporary fix, as gravity will indeed win out!!

Photos below show the cramped path and grass mess that was left laying all over the footpaths in this area.

Possibly there will be a video here too, if i can attach it 🙂

Kingsbridge in Disgrace !!

After giving SHDC and DevonCounty 2 weeks to sort this out, now the “jungle” is slowly eating the traffic lights, a crossing where a number of drivers seem to have problems stopping when the lights are red, now they are going to have even less chance of stopping with one less red light!!

I understand cut backs to save money….but when a path is almost non walkable , and foliage is hiding essential lighting ( traffic lights in this case ) , then its appalling , And you can bet yourself if you were late sending money to these organisations , you would already be in receipt of a snotty letter with threats of court action and the like.

Not good!

So tomorrow being the dead line, and its still a mess!!!
